For the last several years, the Adjunct Project has spearheaded “CUNY Equity Week,” an offshoot of the nationwide movement, “Campus Equity Week.” Campus Equity Week occurs biennially; the most recent was October 25-31, 2009. Events are designed to put contingent faculty in touch with one another, support statewide legislation, inform campus communities about the exploitation of contingent faculty, and achieve specific change on campus. The Adjunct Project has produced a variety of multi-media documents, articles, and educational tools to draw attention to the increasing and exploitative contingent employment practices at CUNY, and the problems deriving there from. These materials can be used at any time during the semester to educate students and faculty about the negative effects of the the corporatization of higher education. Please tell us if you have anything that could be used in future CUNY Equity Weeks!
